Distance readings are available from anywhere via live video or through a written reading accompanied by high-quality photographs of your card spreads and an authored missive. An afternoon at Julie’s Coffee & Tea Garden in Alameda as the Wheel turns toward the dark half of the year. Folklore, Tarot archetypes, storytelling, reflection, and a little sympathetic magic, with warming sips and bites from Julie’s kitchen. We’ll make two take-home talismans: a Dream Pillow and a Liminal Charm. 3–4:30pm.

The Wheel Turns Toward Mystery 🕸️
As the last golden leaves tumble and autumn’s abundance begins to wane, we arrive at Samhain, the final harvest and one of the most mysterious thresholds on the Wheel of the Year. 🍂
Traditionally, Samhain marks a passage into the dark half of the year, a time associated with the thinning veil between worlds, ancestral remembrance, endings, and the mysteries of life, death, and renewal. It is a deliciously liminal time when the familiar can feel a little strange, the unseen a little closer, and the coming darkness invites us to look inward. 🪞
This is an interactive, welcoming gathering for the curious, the magically minded, seasonal enthusiasts, Tarot lovers, and anyone wishing to feel a little more aligned with the cycles of nature.
Together, we’ll explore the folklore, archetypes, symbols, and old seasonal traditions that illuminate this passage from harvest into winter. Through storytelling, Tarot, reflection, sympathetic magic, and a little handcraft, we’ll consider what it means to honor an ending, tend to our inner world, and welcome the restorative mysteries of the darker months.
We’ll meet the Tarot archetypes of Death, the High Priestess & the Four of Swords, and venture into the shadows of folklore, where mysterious figures, enchanted houses, secrets, and spinning wheels draw us deeper into the wonder and wisdom of autumn’s final days.
What deserves to be carried forward? What is ready to be released? And what might need a little darkness, privacy, and hush before it can become something new?
🦉 We’ll work with our hands to create two personal seasonal talismans: a small Dream Pillow, filled with natural fibers, botanicals, and magical correspondences for wintering, rest, dreaming, and connecting with spirits; and a Liminal Charm, a tiny layered landscape reflecting the colors, energies, and mysteries of our own internal winter. A little sympathetic magic to carry into the long nights ahead. All materials for both activities will be provided. 🧂
And because this is still autumn, there will be plenty of seasonal pleasures! Enjoy warming sips and delicious bites from Julie’s handmade kitchen as we gather with kindred spirits in the garden.
🧺 One Last Harvest: The Gratitude Basket. Our Gratitude Basket returns for a final autumn exchange. As Samhain brings the harvest season to its close, you’re invited to bring something to share or swap: a small seasonal offering ready for its next journey and new life. Participation is entirely optional.
No previous knowledge of Tarot, witchcraft, folklore, or the Wheel of the Year is necessary.
